Challenges

We faced several challenges during development, requiring innovative solutions and careful design to ensure an effective tool for users, the most prominent of which were:

Arbitrary Crop Pricing and Evaluation: The legacy system struggled to accurately determine cotton grades, leading to unfair price disparities and farmer dissatisfaction before the entire system was digitized

Complex Export Paperwork: Traditional transactions and documentation slowed down shipping operations, wasted time at ports, and made quick compliance with strict international customs standards difficult

Weak Communication Channels with Farmers: The company suffered from the absence of a direct mechanism to inform farmers of supply dates and guide them to certified collection centers, causing congestion and delays in receiving the harvest

Storage and Logistic Tracking Risks: The lack of a smart tracking system posed a threat to the safety of cotton bales, making it difficult to monitor moisture and temperature levels inside warehouses before final export

How it works

Our team worked on a series of steps to ensure the success of the application, including conducting initial tests with users to improve the user experience, continuously developing models based on feedback, launching a trial version to collect comments and suggestions, and finally analyzing data to measure the application's impact on performance and interaction.

Farmer Registration and Quota Allocation : Farmers register their land data and acreage via the app. The system then automatically schedules the supply date and accurately estimates the expected crop volume

Digital Grading and Automated Evaluation : Cotton samples are inspected at collection centers using modern technologies. The program directly links the purity grade to the global stock exchange to determine a fair price instantly

Logistics Management and Shipment Coding : Each shipment is assigned a smart tracking code (QR Code) that accompanies it from the warehouses to the ports, facilitating the monitoring of cotton movement and ensuring its quality

Instant Electronic Payment of Dues As soon as the grading is approved, the system issues a direct payment order to the farmers' digital wallets or bank accounts without any bureaucratic delays
